WHAT IS A TEMAZCAL CEREMONY?
“Temazcalli”, a traditional steam bath, is an ancestral ceremony with multiple benefits for wellness and health. Through heat and special properties of different medicinal plants, such as rosemary, eucalyptus, camphor, cedar, jasmine or lemon, the aim is to purify the respiratory tract, the digestive system, improve the nervous system, as well as treat bone, muscular and gynecobstetric problems. The experience of the ritual with therapeutic purposes invites introspection and reflection for a healing of the body, soul and spirit.

Temazcal recommendations:
- Bring something in case you want to share at the end of the activity (optional).
- Talk to the temazcalero guide beforehand about any medical condition or health issue.
- Wear a bathing suit, pareo or skirt (women) and shorts or short trousers (men).
- Bring an open heart and willing to share.
- Do not eat heavy foods before entering the Temazcal.
- Drink plenty of water before taking the Temazcal.
- Bring a towel and dry clothes to wear after the Temazcal.
- Bring personal items to be blessed and charged with fire energy in the case of ritual Temazcales (photographs, stones, necklaces, seeds, instruments, feathers, etc.).
